Description

A photo of this magnitude speaking only of Catena Davy it seems I'm disdaining other formations. And the number of remarkable formations in this picture is really great!

Still Catena Davy is one of the greatest exponents of this crater class .

Even today there are serious doubts about the origin of such craters. Would it be caused by rebound material? Or was caused by a comet that broke apart before impact?

Some believe an endogenous origin, ie, through volcanism originated in the Moon itself.

I think that all assumptions are valid, some must have endogenous origin, others are formed by rebound material and some must have formed from comets that fragmented.

The interesting thing would be to try to discover the origin of each Catena, but I think it would only be possible through on-site research.

In this picture we can see what I have suggested to be another Catena and to date has not yet been confirmed, I called Catena Muller and can be seen in a detailed picture in this post: http://astroavani.no.comunidades.net/catena-davy-e-catena-muller

For those who do not know, a Catena according to the IAU is a chain of craters on the surface of the moon or a planet.

Our Moon has many secrets that still deserve to be unraveled, can you become another trying to unravel them?
